You're Taking WHAT?!

It's official: I am all packed up and off to university. Yep, this time next week I will be moving into my halls of residance, ready to start my Forensic Science and Criminology course. Though I do have two weeks of Freshers to look forward to first... Admittedly I should now be entering my third year of university, but have been putting it off to cuddle koalas and find monkeys in tropical rainforests, and it was worth every second. I was going to defer my offer for yet another year, but chose not to for fear of giving my family a heart attack. I spent the last month back at my family home in Spain, packing up suitcase after suitcase, and was amazed at just how much stuff I had packed that wasn't clothes. I want my room to feel homelike, so made sure to pack some special pieces from my room...

August Wishlist: Interior Design.

I can't believe that my gap year, a year of adventures, is coming to an end. If everything goes to plan, I have another month of travelling and basically doing no work or studying, before attending university. Admittedly I'll be attending three years later than planned, but that's not the point (though someone should probably tell my family that). I'm excited though slightly nervous about this new chapter in my life and excited to meet new people, but I'm mainly excited to decorate my university room. I seriously love interior design. After all, this is the person who spent an hour sat in a library reading a book about lightbulbs. I'm in Spain at the moment and, while most people read a book or sleep whilst lying on a sunlounger, I have a browse on various websites such as IKEA, NotOnTheHighStreet, H&M Home, NEXT, etc. Will people judge me for buying placemats, house plants and salt & pepper shakers? I think I need to remember that I am attending university, not moving to South Kensington. I plan on keeping everything pretty basic, and then adding plenty of colourful details. Either way, here are a few things I have my eye on to make my room a home...

Home Haul.

You'd think, considering I moved out and started my gap year just over a week ago, that a home haul would be the last type of post to be featured on my blog. After all, I'm currently dotting around the U.K, leaving for both Paris and Berlin soon, and then heading off to Australia. Exciting, I know, but has that stopped me from buying some stuff for my 'house'? No, it, hasn't...

My Room.

It's official - today is the day I set off on my travels. In fact, I'm just about to leave for the airport. My suitcases are packed and I'm ready to go. As I plan on travelling, I'm limited in what I can take. I'm taking the necessities but, as I'm so into fashion and own a lot of clothes, this has proved to be a challenge. It also means I've had to leave everything in my room behind, including my memory box (another post on that soon!). My room is like my sanctuary. I've worked hard to make it homey, cosy and to make it a space that represents me and one that I want to spend time in. As I won't actually be spending time in it for a good while, I thought I'd share some photos of my favourite things in my room. I feel like it'll be a nice post to look over when, and if, I start to feel homesick.

You know how most people spend their Summer holidays in some exotic location and go on late night adventures? Well, I might not have gone to an exotic location but I did go on some light night adventures! And by that I mean I stayed up until 3am most nights, browsing interior design. It's actually got to the point where I now have everything bookmarked that I could possibly need for my future home, including a front door mat, for both inside and outside! The only thing I'm missing is some curtains, and that's where Beddinginn comes in...

Nickelson Wooster

There's an elephant in the room bigger than my obsession with Céline handbags and that's the fact that no one seems to have heard or be talking about Nickelson Wooster. Nickelson, who describes himself as an old midget queen who had some good fortune along this way, is fashion blogger and tumblr addict, has worked as a buyer and design director in multiple chains, was the previous the men's fashion director for Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman and is the self-confessed style and tattoo inspiration of none other than Mr. David Beckham himself. Pretty good for a man who is relatively unheard of in the World of media nowadays, something that boggles my mind considering he has a over 200,000 Instagram followers and an army of Tumblr followers behind him. You should all follow him just for the photos of dreamy male models, if nothing more.
