What Do You MEAN I Can't Wear my PJ's to Work?

Spring has officially sprung in London (well, it had until it snowed today) and Autumn is drawing to a close here in Australia (I came here to get a tan, not to spend my day wrapped in a blanket), which means I should probably think about booking a flight home to the U.K. and, dare I say it? Start thinking about university and work, both of which I'll start back at this coming September. One thing that has been playing on my mind more than most is what am I going to wear? I've never been one to 'dress down' and I definitely don't intend to start now, though I obviously wouldn't say no to going in my pyjamas if I could. If my lecturers have a problem with my berry lipstick and leather jackets, then they're just going to have to put up with it. Though I'm pretty much black and white when it comes to most things, with fashion, I'm much more grey - think comfy, yet stylish. I'll rarely be seen out in tracksuit bottoms and a jumper, or an outfit that I couldn't sit down in. I like to meet somewhere in the middle, which is where Betabrand come in...

April Favourites - The Non-Beauty Favourites.

My spending habits have taken a major cut since I came to Australia. I still haven't booked my flights back to the U.K. and plan on doing some more travelling & exploring while here, so have been making sure that I don't blow all (or any) of my money on fashion and beauty products. My brain practically screams at me to just keep walking whenever I walk past any of my usual beauty joints.  Because of this, there aren't any new products that I've been loving so, for now, here are some non-beauty favourites...

Apps You Need.

I love but hate mobile phones and technology. People nowadays can't even leave their house without their mobile phones, finding themselves lost without them when they're actually missing out on a lot more than they would be if they didn't have them in their hands. I myself am guilty of this and am ironically writing this on the tube. Despite the obvious downside, it amazes me just what technology nowadays can do (I acknowledge that this makes me sound about 50). Some of the apps out there are amazing (and now I found like my mother). I've put together a few of my favourites...

THE Place to Visit in London & Meeting the Cast of Zoolander.

While in London, I think it's safe to say that I did my fair share of exploring. I visited all the local tourist spots, like Buckingham Palace, but also discovered some secret hidden gems, like The Sky Garden. Well, I wouldn't exactly call it hidden, as it's one of the tallest buildings in London, and it's practically fully-booked every hour that it's open, but not many people seem to talk about it. Though there is always a queue (there are also searches and metal detectors), it is 100% worth it. Once you reach the top, you are greeted with a 360ยบ view of London; St Paul's, The London Eye, Tower Bridge, The Shard and more. It's quite ironic that it's located near The Shard, given the fact that both have the exact same views, they just range in price, with The Sky Garden being free and The Shard being, well, ridiculously over-priced. You're free to spend as much time at The Sky Garden as you like. There are mini cafe areas (I'd go just for the carrot cupcakes with vanilla frosting), plenty of seating (both inside and out) and even restaurants, both for food and champagne. I'd imagine them to be a great place for a party, and a great place to take blog photos, as I think I've proven with this post...

Finding Nemo & Friends.

I love aquariums. I have done since I was four years old, when my reception class was taken on our very first school trip to one. I don't remember much, just being fascinated by the stingrays and seahorses. Fifteen years on (Fifteen? Really? That is terrifying), and not much has changed. I am still just as fascinated. Though I much prefer seeing sharks, turtles and all other animals in the wild, it was still great to see the variety of colours and wildlife up close. I even got to hold starfish! And being the Disney fanatic that I am, I got a bit too excited when I saw 'Nemo' and 'Dory'...

Style Crush #4 - Emily Ratajkowski.

I may not quite know how to pronounce her surname, but I am a massive fan of Emily Ratajkowski. Whether it be casual or red-carpet, I don't think there's a look of her's I wouldn't wear. I especially loved the Balmain dresses she wore on the We Are Your Friends press tour. I'd also like her body/abs because wow. Oh, and can we talk about how, unlike most celebrities, she actually wears items of clothing or shoes on more than one occasion. I'm not just a fan of Emily because of her fashion choices, I also admire how she is an advocate of feminism. That topless selfie that she uploaded with Kim Kardashian? Say what you want, but I fully supported it. Isn't that the whole point of the matter? That woman have the same rights as men and that they have the ability to do what they want without being judged? Women don't have to spend their lives wrapped up, scared of what other's think. We are allowed to express ourselves however we see fit, so shoutout to Kimmy K and Emily for that one.

Taking Selfies with Kangaroos and Koalas!

Well, that's another few things ticked off of my Bucket List; talking selfies with kangaroos & koalas and holding a snake! My day out at Caversham Wildlife Park was probably my favourite day so far in Australia, and potentially even one of the best days of my life. The fact that I just sat there for twenty minutes with a kangaroo, managing to get so close that I accidentally got poked in the eye with its ear. It even struck a few poses! My day at Caversham also proved to me that I open my mouth far too much, not just from talking so much, but in photos. Given that my brother practically owns a zoo (think multiple snakes, scorpions, tarantulas, geckos, etc.), I figured it was only right that I got my hand on some reptiles. Though everyone else was terrified to even go near the snake, I asked to hold it on my own, but unfortunately wasn't allowed. They clearly thought I was going to run off with it/completely bottle it, drop the snake and run screaming from the room... Here are some photos (I won't lie, they're mostly selfies) I took on the day...

March in Photos.

As mentioned in my last post, I can't deal with just how fast this year is going. Can you believe it's now April?! It will be Christmas before we know it. March, like February, was spent in Perth, Australia - it was my first full month spent here and I'm still enjoying it. I got my own place and also a job - I think it's safe to say that I landed on my feet. I've done plenty of exploring while here and also taken plenty of photos, some of which I thought I'd share with you!

April Wishlist: Sunglasses.

It's very rare for me to be seen not wearing sunglasses. Come rain or shine, even when I'm not wearing some, I'll have a pair or two in my bag. My most worn sunglasses are probably a pair of Ray-Ban aviators and now I'm looking to add to my collection. Considering just how often I wear sunglasses, I don't actually own that many. They're just so expensive! Despite that, I've put together a list of some of my current favourites, both high-end and highstreet.
